me too
Posted by Forestar on Feb 11 2005
I just got a 270 WSM and am doing some load development also. So I'd be interested in y'alls loading data too.  There's quite a bit of info at www.shortmags.org, and people seem to like MagPro.  Problem is, I can't get MagPro here in Sitka, so I've started off with Reloader 25.  I shot 10 shots at 50 yards last weekend that I could cover with a nickel, but they weren't full house loads -- just something to get sighted in with: 65.0/RL-25, Federal Gold Medal 215M primers, Sierra 140 gr BTHP bullets, OAL = 2.850".  I'm working them up in 0.5 grain increments up to maximum of 69.0 (I think).  I also have a few IMR 4350 loads to try, but was just using up the last of a small amount of powder I had on hand.

I'd also be interested in hearing what bullets you all have had success with.  Sierras always seem to shoot good and perform well-enough on thin-skinned critters.  I'm planning to work up loads with Nosler Accubonds, Swift A-frames and Nosler Fail Safes as soon as possible.  I'd also like to try the Speer Trophy Bonded Bear Claws, but they're out of stock currently.  Going on a Brooks Range sheep hunt in August, but would like to be "loaded for bear" should the need arise.  Open to your constructive suggestions.
