Take any good light weight 30/06 and rebore or rebarrel to .338/06.  
215 gr bullets at 2700,  250gr. at 2550.

Comparison energy at 500 yds. from Sierra Manual and Winchesters website:

.325 win factory 220 grain 2850 fps @ 500 yds. = 1547 ftlbs  BC= .388

.338/06  250 gr. Sierra @ 2550  = 1779ftlbs  BC= .565

Now if you are handloading, the .325 with a better BC bullet like the Sierra 220 BC= .521, you may exceed the .338/06 energy at that range. But we haven't even begun to talk about the .338/06 Ackley improved which is just few reamer turns away! Which can up the velocity 100 fps to 2650 fps, within 50 fps of the .338 Win Mag. and bests the .325 @ 500 yds. because of the better BC. of .565

This sounds so good I'm eyeballing a Columbia 30/06 Model 50 FN military Mauser sitting in my safe with a very corroded bore.....How much are those Midway Mauser barrels;-)
