.338 Win Mag is my recommendation. No less caliber for solid killing power on Brown Bear.  Shot one myself and hunting partner shot one next both with .338 Win Mag Both spine breaking shots but animal need a follow up shot to kill.  30-06 is awesome but first hand says go big or dont go at all.
