My daughter sat for awhile by the ferry crossing at Cooper's Landing today and watched a Brown Bear that was eating something in the bushes. She was about 30 feet from it and stayed in the vehicle. She said some kids in there 20's drove up and got out of there car and walked up till they were about 20 feet from it and took some pictures. Fish and Game came by and made them get back in there vehicles. We had 6 humans injured by bears on the Kenai in 2005. Looks like were headed for some more maulings. Just the way it is when you have a bear population that is not hunted and alot of folks around them for a few months every year.
