one person at a time
Posted by B_M on May 03 2006
sheep man - I think that's the point that Mike was trying to make.  It can't be changed in some forumlaic, top-down, legislative manner.  It has to happen one person at a hunter at a time.  That's exactly why people like Mike and Mark (bushrat) and Dave (HomerDave) and the rest take their time to make posts on ethics.  It's not an attempt to display their moral superiority over the rest of us slobs.  I get so discouraged when people express anger over posts dealing with ethics.  Its truly just an attempt to help preserve our shared passion of hunting as the wonderful thing it is.  It's the grassroots efforts that will really make a difference in assuring that we still have the privilege of hunting in the generations to come.  Whether it's a father sharing an experience with his son, two buddies roasting tenderloins over a campfire, or anonymous strangers discussing ethics on an internet forum, it's the interpersonal efforts and interactions that will make the difference in something that seems to be "uncontrollable", as you put it.

Thanks, Mike.
