Sad deal

Obvious digs aside, I agree in part with what you're saying. Though I don't know him, it doesn't appear that Shawn is a renegade guide. But if he did something he shouldn't have, the law is clear. That's not anybody throwing stones; it's just saying that the law has to be followed. Part of the problem is that the regulations are so complex, yet a guide is required by law to know ALL of the ones that apply to his area. In many cases, Guide Use Area boundaries are not that clear. I'm not protesting the decision, or bashing Shawn, because I don't know the facts. But what I DO know is that the law is very harsh on guides; you can even land in court over something your CLIENT did. Whether that's right or wrong is another discussion.
Hopefully some good will come out of this, even if it's just a warning to others to take extra precautions to keep it totally clean.
I have appreciated Shawn's comments here as well, and hope he will continue posting in the future.
