Open Return
Posted by Michael Strahan on May 02 2006

You'll probably end up with Alaska Airlines on this; none of the majors go into Kotzebue.  Your best deal will be to book it online; they're offering incentives for online bookings.  I don't know what the rates are for an open return ticket, but I believe the return portion would be standby.  You could always book a regular round-trip, with your return for two or three days post-hunt.  If you get in from the field early, you can stand by for an earlier departure.  Loads will be pretty full in and out of Kotzebue during hunting season, but if you fly on the generally light days (Tuesday-Thursday), you have a better chance.  Might save you a few bucks.
