I've used down bags since 1962......never been cold or wet....if you had a problem w/a down bag, more than likely you didn't prepare properly for the conditions that might pop up.....get a down or synthetic bag soaked and, if the weather is really bad, you'll be hypothermic before either one dries out enough to help.

I've spent a total of about one hour w/Marc Taylor on a couple of visits to Anchorage that I made....no, I don't use Wiggy's bags as I'm a down user....but while I was at Marc's shop a gent came in w/a Wiggy's bag that was old,used/abused, just worn out from hard use....Marc talked to him a few minutes, went and got him a new bag and a pillow to boot....that's standing behind a product.....I've got no bones to pick w/Barney's, but unless you deal w/the owner, you don't get much in the way of experience from the other employees.
I don't post here much anymore as it's pretty much a one way, one man show these days....time to hunt anyway.
