Get a pair of breathable chest waders. Your going to be walking along, across, over, thru rivers, creeks, swampy tundra, etc. Breatables are lightweight. They can be rolled down and buckled so they fit around your waist. They wil also keep the blood off your other clothes if your lucky and have to field dress/care for meat.
I wear breathables now, often just with a pair of tennis shoes. Very comfortable. I don't reccommend anything else.
