No mention in my post about there being only one company with a lifetime guarantee, was there?

Nothing in sleeping bag construction is free.  You pay for any pockets, bells, or whistles built into your bag.  But because it was made in China, you probably did not notice the increase.

A, North Face Dark Star is filled with a continuous filament fiber.   My point exactly.

A draft tube will also do a very good job of isolating your head from the rest of your body.  I think shared warmth throughout the bag would be more efficient than a bag with more than one compartment.  Close your hood.

A sleeping bag liner has only one function - that of a sleeping bag liner.  An Overbag adds a significant amount of insulation, and is functional as a bag of and to itself during summer months. More valuable maybe because it has more than one use.

Bivi sacks trap moisture within.  Enough said. Last resort or special purpose use only.

I hope this is of some assistance.
