I was out yesterday and there is still snow on some of the south facing beaches.  I walked some of the beaches that I routinely see bears on and they were covered in snow and ice... not a single bear track or any sign to be found.  It's still cold in Cordova so you might want to wait a weeks at least, probably two.  

A few guys looked around Gravina, same story for bears there too.  Hinchinbrook should be good, a number of bears have been seen all around the island.  Have fun and good luck.
