John,

I did some checking on this condition... is it possible that this was a mis-diagnosis?  Here's a link for tenosynovitis and it indicates that the causes are unknown, but that it's similar to arthritis.  It appears that you had some sort of infection instead.  Here's the link:

I've heard of this condition before, but am looking for more information on it.  Do you have any more information?  Any doctors out there that might have some insights?
