How Much?
Posted by alaskawild338 on Apr 27 2006

You'll just have to get a feel for the areas you are calling in. If you think the area you are working is holding animals close by I would start off with a few low teaser calls. Your pattern of calls will vary anyway. I wouldn't get hung up so much on the pattern of calling as much as the volume of your calls. A routine of a couple minutes of calling and then waiting for 5 to 10 minutes to check out the area is always a good bet. Mix up your calls a little to see what happens. If you happen to spot a larger predator (bear) try getting intense and don't stop calling. Just don't forget if you call a big brown boy in you will have to be prepared to deal with the situation!
