small barrel
Posted by ward17 on Apr 26 2006

I did something similiar and it helped some.  I got a small barrel, a little over a foot or so long and about the same size around as a large coffe can.  I attached some handles to it and chained it to the tree.  I then cut very small holes around the barrel just so a little food would fall out as the bears threw it around.  I filled it with the usual bear bait and it lasted longer than my main barrel.
