Caribou hunting strategy?
Posted by turner1978 on Apr 23 2006
I (as many of you guys probably know) am hunting the mulchatna herd of caribou this september with my cousin. From what I have gathered the air charter will drop us off hopefully ahead of the herd body. We will probably just get to a vantage point and sit a watch for them to migrate past. We will be bringing binocs and a spotting scope with us. If we see some 'bou we will try to intercept and get close enoughe to get a shot. Is this pretty much how you guys up there usually hunt 'bou in late september? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
