black bear baiting anyone anxious yet
Posted by blackbear on Apr 22 2006
i just started tonight to mix up my spray scents and  my stink baits will do more tomorrow with the hope of setting up the 5th of may   so i thought some good recipe exchanges would be insightful and some new ideas i am thinking of trying

first off stink baits  i use a 5 gallon bucket with meat and half gallon water and a bottle of liquid smoke let it set for 2 weeks should be just right

spray scent  1 bottle of anise half bottle vanilla extract imitation and rest of bottle vegetable oil ( makes a great scent)to spray for cover and draw

dog food mix with sugar 15 pounds and some candy skittles

i like a grease path in front of my bait also for  them to step in

heres my new ideas for this season

when i set up this year i am going to do a honey burn and take my portable grill that has a water tray and i am going to cook beef fat on it  for a couple hours i figure  a barbque gets me hungry it may work for them also

i am going to put visqueen down  so cleanup is easier i figure they will get used to it if i put enough dog food out

and finally i am going to conserve gas and hunt fri sat sunday and take a weeks vacation off after june 5th when the baits are  hot

one more note mikes meats in er does a really good job on making polish sausage  out of blackbear.

good luck to any baiters out there and if its possible take your kids. 3 of mine will go this year and my wife has said she will sit with me at least one time .

if you guys want to share any recipes or ideas that you found successful  share away  . we got 4 last year thats a lot of good eating in red beans and rice lol

Next: save on gas Truenorthed Apr 22 2006
