Fortunate few
Posted by AkHunter45 on Apr 21 2006
Glad to see another lady in the fold, the more the merrier i say!! My loves to fish and hike the mountains but has never hunted, that is going to change this fall when we go sheep hunting. It's going to take a lot of work and won't be easy but for me, it's well worth the effort. I want her to know that we don't just run off to get away from them, that we actually do enjoy the privilege of hunting and now i'm going to be able to share that passion with her, hopefully she'll take to it.
Now about the trophy book thing, I don't see it as a bad thing myself, but when it consumes a person to the extent that he/she will do anything to get their name in the book then it's lost it's purpose. I like reading about the record breaking animals, where they were taken and the story behind it, but I like most hunting stories anyways. If it's taken free ranging and fair chase then thats real hunting and how it should be done. Not all record books require that though.
