goretex bags
Posted by Blink on Apr 21 2006
I assume your talking about the military bags? I've had a couple I use for about the last 10 years. They are kinda heavy, but not unbearable for hiking situations. I wouldnt use it at -20 thats for sure. I think the coldest I've used my ECWS bag is about -5 and it was chilly

What I look for in a bag is 1. lightweight but good in cold environments. 2. compressability. its gotta go small, and 3. It cant be down filled, its gotta be synthetic.

Unfortunately. I dont have the money for a perfect bag so I use the goretex miltiary bags and put up with the weight.
