one more thing

We did what the prev. post said-- just cut down some of the little 3' tall willows and made an "air bed" for it to get air circulation under the meat bags (they're surprisingly strong).  We would move the meat bags around every day to make sure one didn't sit in the center and not breathe.  Stored it about 100 yards away from camp just in case bear took an interest to it.  We were pretty happy with that until the day we packed up to leave and we found out that a weasel was getting under the limbs and chewing into some of the bags.  I wish we had been paying closer attention to something coming up from under them.

You might want to bring a slingshot or a .22 or something-- when I wanted to blast him for eating the food we'd tried hard to preserve, my buddies pointed out that would be the greivous sin of wasting animals.  Now if I could have skinned that SOB and tanned its hide, I'd feel better, and it wouldn't be waste, would it?
