Nicely done; you said what I was trying to say.  But it took me longer!  You know my motto: Why say it in 15 words when 1500 would do!

This is exactly the issue, and unless the native community takes the lead on this, we're headed for deep weeds.

A side point that occurred to me on this also.  Look at the way the State of Alaska is responding to this, compared to the federal government.  To me this only reinforces the idea that we need LESS federal involvement in these matters; not more.  On the other hand, the feds are doing a better job managing commercial guiding on their lands than the state.  What a mess.

Thanks though, for a succinct post on this.
