[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] boots Posted by live2hunt on Apr 06 2006 I have observed this forum for quite awhile trying to get the various perspectives on the best leather boots for hunting. I am an extreme gear fanatic and like most hunters they want the best gear. Clearly the top 2 choices posted have been the Meindl boots and the Lowa boots. Take this information for what it is worth, when you spend up to $300 on a pair of boots it is essential to get the right fit. Last fall I purchased the Meindl Alaskans and the Lowa Sheep hunter at the same time, to obviously compare them side by side. Similiar to taking out a vehicle for a test drive. When I first tried the two on, there was hardly any noticeable difference. But as I wore them more and more around the house and up and down the stairs the differences were apparent. Without going into detail on the difference, because everyone has a different feel, look and purpose. After careful consideration by these two excellent boot the winner was the Lowa Sheep hunters. This is the ultimate hunting boots. Previous: Thanks for the suggestions & thoughts thus far ... Bill in Pa Mar 30 2006 Next: Lowa!!! B_M Mar 29 2006 Message Thread:
