Hey alwaysgoing,  There is a little bit of tongue-in-cheek humor with some of the replies, but beleive me when I tell you the gist of what the locals are posting is absolutely true. I live in Florida, but have poked around Canada and Alaska some.  The bugs in the North woods at noon on a cool day are 10 times, no make that 20 times, worse than they are in the Florida Everglades at night during mid-summer. You simply cannot be too prepared and you simply cannot imagine how bad the bugs can be up there.
