To say there are lots of bugs is like saying the ocean has some water in it.  Yes there are bugs, both skeeters and small black flies.  Cover up, have a head net and bug dope.  Wear a light pair of gloves that cover your wrists.  I wear flight gloves.  Those flies, to me, are the worse and they WILL find any patch of bare skin and take a bite.  They cause more swelling then the mosquitos.  Do not underestimate.  Wind will keep them down some, yoou'll only get bit on your lee side.  Eating can be an adventure but you'll get a little extra protein. :)
