Yes there are bugs, both skeeters and small black flies. Cover up, have a head net and bug dope. Wear a light pair of gloves that cover your wrists. I wear flight gloves. Those flies, to me, are the worse and they WILL find any patch of bare skin and take a bite. They cause more swelling then the mosquitos. Do not underestimate. Wind will keep them down some, yoou'll only get bit on your lee side.
