It sounds like your from out of state.  So my suggestion would be to fork out a few bucks and do a fly out.  By the time you pay for gas to drive the 400 miles, maybe a flat or 2, and a new windshield, you probably wouldn't be down that much by flying.
Plus why would you want to drive that far just to be in a zoo of other hunters.  Part of the fun in alaska is the wilderness experience.  You won't get that on the haul rd.
