I went on this hunt last August with two friends.  It is a great hunt and an even better experience!  The drive alone was worth the trip!  

We too hiked the five miles.  I will warn you that it is not a straight five miles.  There are lots of little lakes/streams you will have to go around.  It is like walking on a sponge.  I would compare it to walking through foot high cattails in ankle deep water.  Most of the time it isn't too bad but there are places you really have to work.  

From what I have seen it is best to find out where the boo are hanging out and go out from there.  If you hunt with a bow it would be fun to try and stalk one.  If you want to talk more or have some additional quesions shoot me an e-mail.  tosoni_ak@hotmail.com.  TT
