Posted by B_M on Mar 29 2006 I have a pair about 2 years old - not sure which model, to be honest, but they are gore-tex with rubber that comes up over the toes. These are the best boots I've ever owned. As for fit, I have a fairly narrow foot, small ankles, etc. I've never really thought about the toe area, but it seems to have plenty of room. I sheep hunt every year, and the sole is great for the mountains - stiff enough for climbing through the rocks, soft enough for hiking in the valley bottoms. I just can't say enough good things about the Lowas. I've also heard that the Lowa sheep hunter is a good boot, though I haven't tried it.
