[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] ? shot Posted by shphtr on Mar 01 2006 I have had that exact shot at approx 75 yds on a 6' 10" blackie in PWS several years ago. I did not hesitate nor did I have any doubt of the outcome: 200gr 30 cal Nosler Part at 3100 fps into center of mass from a solid rest...he was dead before he hit the moss and never so much as kicked. This was a personal decision based on the shot offered, external ballistics of the rifle/load used, my comfort level with the shot, and game hunted. I would take the same shot today under the same conditions. Previous: What's the best shot here?
