shot
Posted by Clice on Mar 01 2006
I never allowed a client to take a head on shot, simply because I never had to rely on a low percentage shot.  I was simply able to position my client in a higher percentage shot situation.  Sometimes game walked, never lost sleep because of it.
Simple fact of the matter is it is a low % shot, and my advice to others is let it walk for another day or make an attempt to find a better shot, if you can find a rest you can find a way for a higer % shot.
I will say it is a lethal shot if made, but I have also seen people who can drive tacks at the range but not able to hit an extra large pizza in the field.
My advise for anyone who reads this post is know your limitations and dont be so arrogant in the field as to think you will never miss, hunt safe and be ethical.  dont think I am pointing this at any one individual or group, Im not, it is exactly what I ask myself in a situation.
