   Own straight because of cost but used angled and have heard strong recommendations from guides and hunters alike to angled being most comfortable for long use. As far as locating animals binoculars should take care of that possibly but if not most angled have a guide or sight post system to get you in close proximaty to animal or target. I used angled for bear hunt and was able to remain behind scope and glass considerably longer I believe because of ease of sitting and adjustability of eyepiece angle to person.
