[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] wolves and wolverines Posted by northway on Feb 28 2006 I've seen about 20 different wolves over the years. One pack while winter moose hunting had 8 in it. I've had packs howling all around, but didn't see them. I've seen 3 wolverines while hunting. One while sheep hunting, one on that same winter moose hunt, and one out trapping that I shot. The one wolf I saw that I had an opportunity to hunt was "up the creek" where I sheep hunt. It was travelling in the creek bottom and was going in and out of the trees. I was just about to shoot, when I pulled the trigger and had the safety on. Had to wait for it to clear again and then the "puppies' started barking. Mom must have been bringing some food in. I just enjoyed the moment, happy that the safety was on, and left them. Haven't seen them again, so they must have moved onto more productive country.
