the shot
Posted by northway on Feb 28 2006
Personally, I have taken this shot and haven't lost an animal. I am not saying I prefer this shot and would only take it  with a rest.  I have taken 3 moose this way in brush.  Part of having the confidence of taking this shot is having "enough" gun to do the damage.  All of my shots were with a 8mm Mag or a .375 ultra mag.  I wouldn't take this shot if was out further, but 50 yards and a rest, no question about it.  Any less of a gun and NO I wouldn't take the shot.
