kodiak goats

Sal,
The weather can can unprecdictable by Oct so I would talk with your  pilot & someone who has hunted the exact same area you decide to hunt & get the specifics on the land features available.
We went on Sept 22nd last year & saw at least 6 bears above 2000 ft.
No problems but they will be up there yet. I would bring some rope because the longer you keep your meat accessible ( in game bags under a tarp) the more your chances really increase to losing some of it.
Your best options are to hang your bags over a ledge / cliff,  in a tree, or submerged in the lake in contractor bags.
It took us 1 day to many last year to get all our meat from the top to the lake. As we made our 2nd trip & climbed the ridge line on the very top of the mtn (3600ft) we followed the fresh bear tracks in the snow straight up & over to within 350 yds above him where he was laying fat & happy from a free meal & claiming the remainder.
Deer will be hit or miss we didn't see a single deer & either did a guide we talked to down at the lake, but I know others in the same zone saw plenty.
Have fun & good luck.
