Head shot
Posted by Josh_AK on Feb 28 2006
Are you kidding me Take the shot. Now I know Im going to piss some people off, but I have taken white tail deer with a 10/22, at 50 yards. I have done this many of times. The trick (on a white tail) is to shot the top of white spot under the throat. They will drop, faster and die faster than a shot to the lung. I have never had a deer run on me, using this method. I know because my family and I have to kill X number of deer, every year on our land, due to fear of CWD. On a moose I don't know where I would place my shot, but most folks hunt moose with a 300 win mag. If your not out for a rack or head mount. Take a head shot. You will never mess-up any meat that way.
