Land

The problem I have seen is getting the correct information.
You need to know the Lot, Block, and Township of where you are hunting.
You also need to know your rights, for instance you have the right to go through an active mining claim (road) to get to a hunting area.
When you are looking up who owns the land there is no one source for land information. Depending on the location you need to check with the state, fed, local government and native corp. My experience with the native corp have been mixed, two of them were very professional and easy to work with, the third did not know what land it owned and lied to me.
There is a lot of state land that the sub-surface is leased, you can hunt on this land, know the land status.
I keep a file on areas I hunt and have everything documented, do not believe what locals tell you. One area I know of the land owner will give you permission if you ask. The locals lie about what he owns and portray him as a xxxx xxxx
I make it sound like Land owners are a bunch of xxxxxx. If you had someone break into your cabin you would be unhappy too. You would be amazed on the change in attitude when they realize you are not the enemy.
