Wolf/Wolverine Sighting
Posted by mdhunter on Feb 28 2006
Years hunted Alaska:  3 of last 4 years (all in 17B)

Wolves seen:  5
Wolverines seen:  4

In 2002 we were camped on the King Salmon River - through the spotting scope, we watched something I haven't even seen on TV - two wolverines were chasing two large bull caribou away from their den!  They were about 2 miles away on a high ridge - by the time we got in the boat, crossed the river, and climbed up the ridge, the wolverines AND the caribou were nowhere to be found.  Still an amazing sight.
