Total Footwear System

Burton,

It's pretty tough to get the just right FIT when you mail order boots form Cabela's or any other distibutor.  Boots are definitely made diff & sized diff than say 10 yrs ago.  I had a pr of Canadian by Cabelas Meindl's back in 1999 that sprung a leak after 5yrs...sent them back to Cabelas & they prorated the boots & sent me a new pr for half price.  They were the same 11" boots (vibram sole w/rock guards, nubuck leather, gortex, speed laces, padded collar, 200 grm thinsulate & crappy insoles).  The boots are still going strong with six moose seasons on them.  One trick I learned early on with a pr of Rocky boots is to keep them away from the camp fire no mater waht the temtation is to kick the firewood around stoking the fire.  I use a propane boot dryer at camp to get the dampness out each night.  I have replaced the insoles with "Sorbathane Blue".  I always wear polypro liners & thorlo padded socks rated for the type of hunt or climate condition.  By the way 4wheeler & mud kill these boots.

Good Luck...

Vr,
