Please give this some thought -

Back in the Day --- no different as bears where legal to trap... since then the gov. puts a whole different premium(s) on methods, means, and lic./tags, etc.

Yet another wholly disconnected issue from that above is that wolves are far and away harder to hunt or trap if comparing it to taking any bear by whichever tactics.

Here is the greatest dilemma that I see unfolding with the selling of Alaska wild animals for any reasons justifying the take... First and foremost (you might say principally) the present status being no one is permissible to sell game meat in any capacity or put Alaska's wild meat on the market.  Why then would you evolve or upset this posture into encouraging no more than hide hunters?  Heck, you can't even scrape your road kill into your smashed up wreck to gain a little benefit in return for your misfortune - even if in fact you or family happen along as the needy.

No - I do not see eradication (not very probable extinction to use your phraseology) being the question either.  Listen it’s not about the licensing, tags, and taxidermy… the prime cost is the transportation for somebody and the big time cost on guided only hunting for nonresidents.

No – Baiting is not the answer and certainly NOT “the only solution”!  It presents opportunistic wildlife with easily fed bad habits later portraying a wild animal as an idle, routine garbage forager.  Baiting is quite plainly what it is… an undemanding, cost-effective scheme for the indolent individual that does not identify with, value, or appreciate wildlife in its natural environment.  Just go kill at a garbage dump if it was legal.  Considering that you can both bait and moreover not hunt a garbage dump --- I undoubtedly could do the math and say the State is in a downward spiral into putting a premium on garbage!
