I hear ya and understand where your coming from. and agree to some extent. as far as predator control goes i understand baiting is an effective means, not considered hunting as much as controling. i wasn't all that clear, since i wasn't really up for writing three pages of opinion. I agee that as a techinque for controling bears...ie killing more...baiting would be widely supported. even in my guide areas i've seen the moose decline so fast you'd think they just all walked away.bears seems to be the cause of it all.
as far as bounty goes, i was referring to state or govt paying us to kill them, not really letting us sell them, a little difference there i can see that.
Baiting grizzly as a means of sport hunting, i was under the impression most folks would not really encourage that, perhaps my conception of the public is way off. who knows.
As usual its hard to debate or discuss each specific topic on the forum, as a room over a steak is much easier. Thanks for your respectfull response, i don't disagree and understand where your coming from. perhaps you have dug deeper in a hole i peeled the surface on....more enlightening.
As for sows and calving grounds, i think sows tend to be more repetative in calving grounds that boars, due the the fact that caribou and moose calve during the rut...boars would rather reporduce that hunt calves at that time.
