Good thread here

There is a few things I have been doing. I like the tooth idea one. That is a good one. Sat phone is #1 on my list. Between that and a GPS you could get out of there.

The last couple of years I have been buying trip insurance on my hunts. It costs me $38.00 and covers medivac anywhere in the state.

I think that is a pretty good one as we are so remote hunting. I carry a pretty extensive first aid kit with sam splints etc. Now we are usually traveling by boat so I tend to carry a little more than your normal back pack hunt first aid kit. I used to be a EMT-3 which is one level below a paramedic so I have had some real extensive training and in the field experiances. I like to take along one of my EMT books from school. There is some really good books from Brady Emergency that are handy to have along. I am not talking chapter books. Just quick reference books for trauma and triage.

Quik Clot - I do not have yet but plan on putting that in my kit for next year. This year I forgot it. "oops"  I also like to carry some sort of powder mix for if you become seriously dehydrated. It is full of electrolytes. I also try and get my doctor to give me a couple samples or a small prescription for serious pain meds like oxycontin and a few good antibiotics.
