sheep
Posted by BRWNBR on Jan 30 2006
sorry to say i've never been there, basic principles are applied to sheep areas that don't require a tag. as for a flight service...sometimes its hard to convince them to land somewhere they've never been, they might doubt your ability to determine what a "strip" really is. they'll be more likely to dump you where they've put folks in the past.
don glaser outa willow has a cub on wheels and knows his stuff, he's done alot of bush flying and i would be comfortable flying with him. arctic wings is the name of his business.
If you fly in real early, you'll do one or two of several things. first off you'll freak the sheep out early if your not carefull, fly in and stay put. And you'll  bum the next guy out who lands behind you. most folks won't change there plans if your tent is by the strip. they don't have a back up plan, alot of guys who do a hunt like you are don't know more than one place to land? so what do you do...you land and try to work something out with the guy already there. So if you can, come up with a back up area, or two or three. could save your bacon and your trip.
People write books on sheep hunting, but the basics are super simple, stay outa sight, look look and look some more, play the wind and stalk and hike around using the terrian as cover. pretty straight forward.
