[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Considerations Posted by Sollybug on Jan 30 2006 Here are three bad emergencies I have learned you can plan for: I had a bad one on a scouting trip where the dog sliced open his foot crossing a creek. Fortunately I had cutstop and a goretex sock to get to the road. I now carry the military cutstop previously mentioned on this site as I learned how dangerous a cut can be. I also have started wearing surf shoes to cross creeks. Another thing is a bee sting kit which could be used for any severe allergic reaction. Should you or a partner suddenly have a food or insect or medication allergy in the woods you may not even have time to use the phone without one of these kits. You don’t have to have a history of allergies to have a reaction either. And aspirin in case of heart attack. PS Thanks for the hint on the dental stuff as I hadn’t considered that.
