Medical Emergencies
Posted by Akres on Jan 30 2006
How have each of you planned for medical emergencies when in the field? I have had hunts altered, postponed, interupted and downright foiled due to poor planning. I try to do a better job today, but I am always receptive to improvement. I do maintain proficiency of first aid and cpr, with annual refreshers and routinely go through the first aid kit and update it with new ointments, etc. One thing that I recently included was an inexpensive tooth repair kit. If a filling fails or a tooth gets cracked, the patch can be applied and hunt continued. Otherwise it is back to the dentist in town we go. Actually had a hunt foiled for this very reason, when a member of the party had a filling fall out and she was in misery, thus everyone was in misery.

Next: Thanks All Akres Feb 02 2006
