There are a lot of similar type operations in the Lower 48. I would never consider hunting on a place like that, but there are a lot of people who do.
Three years ago I had a guy hunting in my spring brown bear camp who owns one of those operations in the South. I was amazed by the fact that it is such a huge business. He also sells bucks by the size, but I don't think he had them named. He told me his biggest bucks sell for $13, 000. That's right, 13 grand! That's as much or more than a brown bear hunt here or several days of hunting and several animals in Africa, for a whitetail deer.
Besides the hunts a big part of that type of business is the breeding. It's just like dairy cattle or thoroughbred horses. Frozen sperm from prize bucks and artificial insemination. Pretty crazy to me, but it has become a big business.
Like I said, not my cup of tea, but to each his own. In my opinion it's too bad people actually associate this type of recreation as hunting.
