Posted by skydiver_99654 on Jan 21 2006 After reading this post, it seems as though several people have been threatened while they were doing nothing more than fishing peacefully in a State owned waterway! I don't take somebody threatening my life very lightly. As a police officer, if somebody threatens your life....and you believe that they mean it, I am allowed, as any private citizen is allowed, to respond with deadly force in order to defend our lives.I hope that I never have to run into a situation where somebody is trying to threaten my life when I am doing nothing more than enjoying my own company. I would feel sorry for the aggressor. Let it be known, that I, let alone just about everybody else on this post, didn't move to Alaska to be threatened with our lives, while fishing, hunting, or trespassing on somebody's property, whether it be public or private property. I never would knowingly go onto somebody's private property. If i believed it to be public land, then I would use it. There is an old saying which I value very greatly....If somebody threatens my life, then I am not responsible for my actions that I would deem necessary to protect my life.
