Threat?
Posted by AlaskaHippie on Jan 20 2006
I believe the veiled threat was made by AK375 about not blinking when he runs someone off...I merely pointed out thats a wise position to take.  This IS a hunting forum and I have seen public access discussed MANY times here, so why should this topic be any different?
Why do you keep trying to move it off of here?  Something to hide?
I HAVE been on the receiving end of threats and boorish behavior while fishing the N. Fork, which is a State river. I am enjoying how the 2 keyholders are waltzing around the facts HERE, but out there they are the ones being hostile and threatening, oh the joy of a public spotlight.
Glad to see you finally admitting that there ARE legal access routes to the N. Fork.  You seem to assume I am riding in there on a wheeler.
Nope.  I'm the guy on the Mt. Bike that has in the past told a few of your "Beer in one hand, gun in the other" security guards the facts about WHY I was popping out of a swamp with a bike over my shoulder.
I notice you continue to bend the facts to your desired spin yet once documented facts are presented you then concede a little bit of the truth.  We both know what F&G has said about that gate, 'nuff said there.  If you are so concerned about being sued by someone being injured on this trail why do you hand the key to "Hundreds of people" and swear them to toss off folks they don't know often at gunpoint and with threats?  Are you honestly telling me that these 100's of people know one another by recognition?  Whats going to happen when one of these people who have NO legal claim to that land injures someone else in there and it's discovered it was done at the behest of the true landowners?

AK375.  To answer your question I don't use the gate.  I access in via the aforementioned Mail Trail.  The majority of the confrontations I have had took place AT the river which IS State land. I've had threats to make me "Swim" down to the highway. To see if my Bike would float, my wife has been present and was likewise threatened and insulted.  Each time this happens I march into F&G and report it.  I now have a business card from them and was told next time to pack in my cell phone and call them AS it is happening.  I will, I also from now on will be taping each confrontation.  I've simply had my fill of the tactics applied by the Wards, abd as my E-Mail In Box shows I am not alone.
It's too bad to see this happening, but trying to justify gating off an historic and designated access trail under the guise of a "Private" driveway when the property in question is MILES from the gat is laughable to say the least.
