overweight and outta water

Floated a Nushugak tributary in '03 with two friends at 298, 220 and 160 pounds, 55 lbs personal gear per person plus tent and groceries, tarps, gamebags etc. Ate lots of freeze dried until we were eating lots of moose. Floated out with three large bull moose and all our junk in one 16 foot Achilles raft. We flew 2400 pounds of meat, raft,
antlers and camp gear out of Dillingham to Anchorage, not to include our selves, rifles and personal gear on the commercial flight. I would do it again in a heartbeat, but we were overloaded and we worked our butts off, the 298 guy lost 25 pounds in 11 days, I lost 12 or so myself. It was not technical water and we all had some decent experience behind us with rafts, canoes, rivers and such. We spent a lot of time dragging that raft through shallow water, what a blast!!
