It word got out after an honest calculation of the costs involved I would be through as a hunter in Alaska. It makes no sense. There may be no more expensive sport. Quick calculations of a recent do it yourself Kodiak hunt for just food, fuel and transportation was 12.00 a pound for venison. Not counting the cost of any gear or the 100,000 boat. Must be the experience right? If I turned into a hiker and nature watcher only my hobby wouldnt cost a dime. Unfortunately I like to eat game meat.
