Mr. Pid,
Posting land is very sore topic for me.
Growing up in rural PA I hunted all the land around my home. It was all private land owned by my neighbors. As hunting private land became popular and it made land more valuable my neighors (who were growing old) sold thier land to people who lived in city. The people who bought the land, posted it and only showed up to hunt a couple weeks a year. Being that they were never around I just ignored the signs and hunted my old stomping grounds.
Eventually I was able to meet up with these people and some them granted me permision to hunt there but one of them said no, they bought the land to hunt themselves and wanted nobody to be there. Kind of pissed me off. Since then, I have no respect for people who post thier land.
I come from a military family and we are not furtunate to have the money to purchase large tracks of land to call our own. I must admit that I am envious of those who can and have the woods to themselves on the first day of deer season.
Because I have followed my fathers footseps I too will most likely not have large tracks of land but I have found many places to hunt.
I have also found that most people who post thier land will grant permission if you ask nicley and show respect.
As for native land, do you think the Germans or the Japanese would have granted them such benefits of land ownership. Don't think so. They act like the white people took everything from them, but they tend to forget that other countries may have taken more not for the sacrifices of the many "white" people who fought for the American Way.
This is just my reasoning,
Tight lines,
Dave
