Hey all dont get  on here much but i always seem to check in here once in a while. most of my huntin is for deer on admiralty. I really only hunt with my dad or one or two of my best friends.
My buddy mike and i hunt together almost always. we have been huntin together so much we almost always know what the other is doing. anyhow we go chambered a lot.we usually split up for most of the day and having a round in can be unsafe but safer than not if one is surprized by smoky bear. when we are pared up the guy in the rear is always unchambered. every once in while a hunter gets mauled over there. And almost always the guy is by himself. i always put one in the hole with safety on my m77 ruger when alone. If i didnt hunt in heavy browny zone i prob wouldnt go chambered. When was 14 My dad and i were huntin deer on douglas island and i was chamberd. And dad didnt know. we were crawling over a large deadfall tree and the trigger on my 270 tagged a stick and i touched one off. We were side by side on the log and its a good thing my rifle was pointed straight forward. that scared me a little cuz i new better and knew i screwed up. whether going hot or cold just be aware and make sure your huntin partner does the same
