Constitution
Posted by PatrickH on Jan 13 2006
If you read the US Constitution, the feds have no authority to control fish and wildlife within state boundrys. It is a document written in common language for the common man to understand. The feds have simply usurped the authority to regulate wildlife on federal lands. Unfortunately we had a weak govenor, Tony Knowles, who chose to give up the state's authority (over state waterways) to gain political points. I am not impressed with the other govenors who have not pressed the issue either. The average Alaskan does not have the money, time or expertise to challenge the federal government. In short, they do it because they can get away with it.
